Dantan Manav Kalyan Kendra (DMKK) is actively involved in implementing the Scheme for Adolescent Girls and Kanyashree Prakalpa (SAG-KP) convergence program across five blocks in Paschim Medinipur district. These blocks include Dantan-I, Dantan-II, Mohonpur, Keshiary, and Narayangarh.
Under the program, Concern Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) closely monitor the activities, supported by five Project Coordinators and twelve field facilitators (FF) responsible for program implementation, along with Anganwadi Workers (AWWs).
The SAG-KP convergence program aims to uplift adolescent girls by providing them with essential services, education, and empowerment opportunities. Activities of the program include:
- Selection of Sakhi, Saheli (Adolescent leaders) at each Anganwadi center.
- Discussion with adolescents on menstrual hygiene.
- Discussion on the importance of taking Albendazole tablets & IFA tablets.
- Discussion on the negative impacts of early marriage.
- Re-admission of dropout adolescents at nearby schools.
- Formation of Kishori Samuha (Adolescent Girls Groups).
Through these initiatives, DMKK is working to empower adolescent girls, enhance their knowledge and skills, and create a supportive environment for their holistic development.
