1. Livelihood Entrepreneurship Development Programme (LEDP) on Dairy in Dantan-I block.
DMKK, in collaboration with NABARD and WBRO, conducted the Livelihood Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) focused on Dairy Development. The project, sanctioned in March 2023, aimed to create sustainable livelihoods for Self Help Group (SHG) members in ten villages under Dantan-I block.
The training program, conducted in four batches, covered mapping and identification of livelihood activities, seven days of skill training, exposure visits, setting up demonstration units, refresher training, mentoring, handholding sup-port, and credit linkage. All 120 SHG members successfully completed the training, with 120 trainees establishing dairy units and practicing fodder cultivation to reduce expenses.

The program significantly improved dairy production quality and income levels. Negotiations with AMUL Dairy and MIMUL Dairy ensured fair prices for raw milk. Looking ahead, the program aims to enhance credit access, promote better livestock breeds, improve dairy infrastructure, and develop effective marketing strategies. The LEDP not only uplifted livelihoods but also contributed to sustainable dairy farming practices and overall regional development. SHG women’s average monthly income increased from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 6000. The program’s success demonstrates the potential for self-employment and positive impact in backward areas.
