Area of Intervention

Dantan Manav Kalyan Kendra (DMKK) focuses on diverse areas to drive holistic development and empowerment within the communities we serve. Our interventions span several crucial sectors:

1. Women & Adolescent Development & Empowerment

  • SHG Promotion: Formation and strengthening of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) with bank and credit linkage.
  • Income Generating Training: Providing livelihood and income-generating training to SHG members.
  • Fair Participation: Participation in various fairs for SHG product exhibition and sale.
  • Legal Awareness: Organizing legal awareness programs to educate and empower women and adolescents.

2. Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)

  • Residential Home: Providing care and support for CWSN (Children with Special Needs) girls in a residential setting.
  • Day Care Centre: Offering specialized care and support for special children.
  • Crafts and Celebrations: Engaging special children in activities such as rakhi and greeting card making.
  • Aid Distribution: Distribution of prosthetic aids and appliances among PwDs.
  • Health Insurance: Coverage under the Niramaya scheme for persons with special needs.
  • Annual Sports: Organizing annual sports events for the inmates of CWSN home and day care centre.
  • Legal Assistance: Helping individuals apply for and obtain Legal Guardianship Certificates.

3. Health

  • Rogi Sahayata Kendra: Providing healthcare support at Dantan Rural Hospital.
  • PWID-TI Project: Implementing the project in Kolkata district.
  • Eye Clinic: Offering eye care services, including free spectacles distribution.
  • Blood Donation Camps: Organizing camps to encourage voluntary blood donation.
  • Cleft Lip & Palate Surgery: Providing free surgeries for cleft lip and palate conditions.

4. Agriculture & Allied Development

  • Producer Organization Promotion: Supporting and promoting farmer producer organizations.
  • Livelihood Development: Training in dairy entrepreneurship and related activities.
  • Goushala: Maintaining a gaushala (cattle shelter) for better cattle management.
  • Animal Vaccination Camps: Organizing vaccination camps for animals.

5. Youth Development & Important Days Observation

  • Children’s Day: Celebrating and engaging with children through various activities.
  • National and International Observations: Celebrating Independence Day, International Disability Day, World Environment Day, International Girl Child Day, World AIDS Day, World Elderly Day, International Women’s Day, and Teachers’ Day.

  • Cleft Lip & Palate Surgeries: Provided free surgeries to 334 children.
  • Aid Distribution: Provided tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids, and blind sticks to 856 persons.
  • SHG Digitization: Digitized records of 7,665 women SHGs.
  • FPC Promotion: Promoted 8 Farmers Producer Companies.
  • Child Restoration: Successfully reintegrated 37 children from our CWSN CCI (Child Care Institution) back into their homes.
  • Educational Enrollment: Enrolled 27 out of 39 children from the Disha cum Vikaas Scheme into general schools.
