Organising Legal Awareness Programme:

DMKK in collaboration with District Legal Aid Service Authority (DLSA), Paschim Medinipur organized a legal awareness programme in the meeting hall of DMKK. Shri Dibyendu Nath, Secretary of DLSA-Paschim Medinipur and other paneled lawyers of DLSA remained present in the programme to discuss about different types laws related with women. SHG leaders & Kanyashree club members of nearby schools remained present in the programme as participant.

Training for SHG leaders & Members:

DMKK in collaboration with the office of DDM, NABARD, Paschim Medinipur & Jhargram conducted a training programme for SHG leaders of matured SHGs. 60 women from 25 SHGs participated in the said training pro-gramme. Objective of the training programme was to dis-cuss about role of SHG leaders in management of SHGs, group dynamics, book keeping of SHGs. It was a day long programme. Mr Akash Sharma, DDM, NABARD, Paschim Medinipur & Jhargram, SHG supervisor remained present in the seminar to discuss on the topic.

Seminar on Dairy Dev and KCC-Dairy Dairy Credit Outreach programme:

DMKK organized a seminar on the importance of KCC for dairy development and how to apply for KCC. Dr. Rabin Banerjee-BLDO, Dantan-I Development block discussed the topic. 60 trainees who were imparted training on dairy development under LEDP supported by NABARD WBRO remained present in the said semi-nar. KCC form were distributed among the participants at the end of such seminar.

Workshop for SHG leaders & members on Mushroom marketing:

DMKK in collaboration with DDM, NABARD, Paschim Medinipur & Jhargram & ABIF, IIT-Kharagpur organized a workshop on marketing of mushroom on 04/03/2024 at the office of DMKK. 60 women who were imparted training on mushroom cultivation earlier under MEDP, participated in the said workshop. The resource persons who remained preset in the said workshop were Soumendra Khanra, Atma Pattyanayak, Dipangsu Temvari TBI Manager, ABIF, Kharagpur IIT and two trainers i.e. Sukanta Singha & Gopal Bera from and OFPO. All the resource persons discussed about marketing avenues of different products made from mushroom. They also discussed about the role of mushroom fighting against cancer.

Screening Camp for Eye Sight Detection and Free Spectacle Distribution:

In collaboration with the Vision Spring Foundation, DMKK organized a screening camp across nine high schools in the Dantan-I block area. The expert team conducted thorough screenings to identify students with vision problems. Once identified, a list of students in need of corrective glasses was compiled and shared with the foundation. Vision Spring then provided ready-made glasses based on optometrist recommendations. These glasses were distributed to 427 students from the participating schools, ensuring that they received the necessary eyewear free of cost. A total of 759 students benefited from this initiative.

Voluntary Blood Donation Camp Hygienic kit distribution:

Dantan Manav Kalyan Kendra (DMKK) actively organizes voluntary blood donation camps every year in collaboration with various organizations and local clubs to contribute to the community’s health and well-being.

In collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Midnapur branch, DMKK organizes blood donation camps at their office. The blood collected by the Kharagpur blood bank from these camps significantly aids in addressing blood shortages in the region. Additionally, during these events, the Indian Red Cross Society distributes hygienic kits among local ST families to promote health and hygiene. DMKK also collaborates with various local clubs and institutions to organize blood donation camps at the village level, ensuring widespread community participation and support.

Through these annual blood donation camps, DMKK demonstrates its commitment to community service, health promotion, and supporting local healthcare infrastructure. These initiatives not only help save lives but also foster a spirit of voluntary service and community involvement.

Free Cleft lip & palate Screening & Surgery:

DMKK is committed to providing comprehensive healthcare services to children and individuals with cleft lip and palate conditions. Through our initiative, we have identified and facilitated the treatment of more than 650 children and individuals with cleft lip and palate deformities. These individuals were referred to Kalinga Hospital in Bhubaneshwar for surgical correction, a procedure that was performed free of cost.

Cleft lip and palate deformities can significantly impact an individual’s quality of life, affecting their ability to speak, eat, and socialize comfortably. Through this initiative, DMKK aims to alleviate these challenges and offer a renewed sense of confidence and well-being to those affected. The successful operations conducted at Kalinga Hospital have helped these individuals overcome their conditions and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

This initiative has reached individuals from Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, Jhargram district in West Bengal, and Balasore district of Odisha, ensuring that individuals from these regions receive the necessary services and support. DMKK remains dedicated to providing healthcare services to those in need and will continue to work towards improving the lives of individuals with cleft lip and palate.
