Exposure Visit to Odisha Trained in Dairy Based Livelihood Development Programme

Exposure Visit

An Exposure Visit was successfully organized for 30 women members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) who have received training, under the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programme of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) and implemented by Dantan Manav Kalyan Kendra (DMKK).

The visit aimed to enhance practical knowledge and provide real-time exposure to scientific dairy farming practices, milk processing, and value-added dairy products. As part of the programme, the participants visited Krishnapur Dairy Farm, Balasore, Odisha, followed by the Shiva Shakti Milk & Food Products Unit, Jaleswar, Odisha.

During the visit, the SHG members interacted with farm owners and technical staff and gained hands-on insights into modern cattle management, hygienic milk production, feed management, disease control, and dairy-based livelihood opportunities. The exposure helped the participants understand successful dairy business models and encouraged them to adopt improved practices in their own ventures.

This initiative reflects the continued commitment of NRL CSR and DMKK towards women empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, and rural economic development through capacity building and practical learning opportunities.
