About the CWSN Home
Dantan Manav Kalyan Kendra (DMKK), in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal, runs Jamuna Balika Abash—a dedicated CWSN (Children With Special Needs) Home for specially-abled girls under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. This initiative operates under the Child Protection Services (CPS) scheme of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India.

What We Provide
Formal and Open Schooling:
Currently, 21 residents are enrolled in mainstream schools, and one child is studying through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) system, based on individual needs and abilities.Special Education Support:
One trained special educator and one academic tutor have been appointed in accordance with Mission Vatsalya guidelines to provide personalized learning and classroom support.Weekly Schedule:
The girls attend regular schools three days a week and a special Day Care Centre for the remaining three days, where they receive training in academics, life skills, and co-curricular development.Regular Medical Check-ups
Routine health checkups, dietary planning, and hygiene awareness sessions are conducted.Safe Shelter & Psychological Support
The institution ensures a safe, abuse-free environment and provides counseling and emotional support through trained professionals.
Therapeutic & Holistic Development:


To support the all-round development of the children, the CWSN Home provides the following specialized therapies on a regular basis:
Speech Therapy

Play Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Professional therapists are engaged to address specific needs and track the progress of each child.
